We go on location to visit with New Mexico’s newest and most creative chocolatiers at Cocopotamus. Colleen visits with Ally Sinclair, who, with husband Max, started the world famous dessert cafe restaurant, NYDC.
Ally and Colleen discuss the accident that gave us one of the truly American chocolate inventions, how Cocopotamus came up with their eclectic variety of all natural, gourmet recipes and how Cocopotamus’ dark chocolate concoctions not only taste good, but can be good for you.
Yup, we know this may sound like a commercial, but after you’ve had a taste of Ally and Max’s unique artistry, you’ll be sold!

If you stayed up late like we did this week to see Paul’s guest shot on Letterman, you know he serenaded the Big Apple from atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater. There was only time for two selections on the live show, but Paul treated the audience to a preview of his upcoming NYC concerts with an extended set after the network cameras were turned off. Here it is!

LISTEN: Scott n Colleen’s first podcast
When I brought Colleen into the studio last week for our Michael Jackson tribute, callers said, “why don’t you put her on the air!” So that’s what we’re doing! Welcome to the first in what we hope may become a series of Scott n Colleen On Demand programs. We were inspired by our fellow radio friends Dave and Geri, who have been podcasting daily for the last week from our home state of Michigan, and decided to sit down between the headphones and give it a whirl.
Here’s the run-down:
We debunk some Scott Owens myths and wonder why the Albuquerque Journal is one of the few newspapers to charge to read on-line content (We follow google news often to KOB TV). Would you read a newspaper on an Amazon Kindle?
We review the Michael Jackson news of the day. The rumors about a viewing at Neverland Ranch, his will and the news reports about the real parents of his three children. Why did Joe Jackson use his the BET Awards interview to announce a new record label? We remember where we were when Elvis died and when John Lennon was shot. Colleen talks about her favorite MJ tunes and we compare Thriller at Halloween to Charlie Brown at Christmas.
An FDA panel says we should take less Tylenol. Statistics show that too much acetaminophen causes 56,000 ER visits each year, leading to 200 deaths.
We marvel at how that baby survived the Yemeni air crash and review the statistics on where the safest seats are in an airliner.
Al Franken is going to Washington. Colleen says, “He’s not local.. let’s move on.” We both agree that a 60 vote Democratic block in the Senate doesn’t guarantee concensus.
Colleen mourns The View’s summer hiatus and we discuss the keys to the show’s staying power. I complain about how she watches the shows right before bed. Who was the better View moderator? Whoopi or Meredeth?
Colleen talks about her close encounter with Mario Lopez at our neighborhood Whole Foods and we share a secret about where to get the best tortillas in New Mexico.
She opens up ColleenCuisine.com and shares our not-so-secret marinate recipe for July 4th steaks on the grille…. Along with Shelby’s text message recommendation for a new menu item at Taco Bell.
Does salsa dancing at Sports & Wellness make you more healthy? Our personal trainer gives you the skinny, I ruin her good work by singing the praises of In-And-Out burgers and we wonder aloud why ChickFilA is so popular in Albuquerque.
And our Geek Street segment features Colleen’s first experiences with her new iPhone and how the white one she ordered me may have issues.
All that and more in 37 minutes or less on our premier edition of Scott & Colleen On-Demand.
PS – Thanks to Julie Whitlow, Ryan Schram and Mike Raymond for the instant feedback on show number one!
